Our school is one of the oldest in the village and has been a prominent part of village life for 150 years. The original school was built in 1871 in Orrell Lane and was intended to accommodate around two hundred pupils. Built using traditional building materials, many of the schools original features are still visible today. The two original buildings (Hall and Infants) were for a period of time, two schools – an infants’ and a juniors’ with two Head teachers. Over the years additional buildings were added until eventually the schools reunited. Working as one, the school has continued to evolve and improve over the years. Continuing to nurture links with the village and surrounding areas resulting in the wonderful school we are so proud of today.
A member of staff will come to the playground to collect the children ready to start the school day.
Our meals are prepared off site by a local catering company who create wholesome well balanced meals, using fresh ingredients from local suppliers.
The children will remain under the teachers supervision until a parent
or guardian arrives to collect them.
We encouage all our children to participate.
Our school has lovely bright uniform based on a blue tartan, with royal blue jumper and yellow polo shirts. We have protective
clothing to help keep our children safe and clean. Our PE kit is a white t-shirt with navy blue shorts & jogging bottoms with black trainers.
As we are a small school we work with Jen's Sandwich bar in the village to provide our school meals. Jen works hard to deliver a wide variety of fresh, well balanced meals for our children.

Trust [noun] 1. [uncountable] the
belief that somebody/something is good, sincere, honest, etc. and will not try
to harm or trick you.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word
I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
It is the feeling of being sure about something, even if it can not be proved."
