Our Church

Burscough Methodist Church was founded in 1869. Right from when the Church was first built the dream was to also have a school that would be there for the children of the village, the surrounding areas and visitors from the many boats that stopped off at Burscough Wharf during the year. Not just to have a school, but a school that was linked to the Church and followed the Methodist teaching and practises. This is still the ethos today, 150 years later, that our Church and school work so well together, supporting one another in many ways.

We have three Foundation Governors – Rev Michael Tindsley, Mr Brian Guy and Mrs Pat Robinson, and all of these are always on hand to help and assist in any way that they can. Particularly in school activities for the children during lunchtimes, we help to organise and run Quiet Time on Mondays, Story Time on Tuesdays when members from the church also get involved as volunteer readers. A lovely time is had by the children and adults alike!

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

Our value:

HOPE

 Hope [verb]
1.  [intransitive, transitive] to want something to happen and think that it is possible

" For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?"
Romans 8:24

What our children say:

I think hope is when you wish for something to go a certain way, and sometimes you have to wait for a long time.”
